Inaugural entry

Well, it had to happen some time, I suppose. This is the first time I've had some web space of my own to play around in, and I intend to be as self-indulgent as possible. You can always try invading other webpages to drone on at length about how Solaris is brilliant and Harris's Hannibal is really disappointing, but then you can feel the temperature drop through your CPU. That's when others in cyberspace start looking at you like you're Uncle Frank, who has to be invited to weddings and christenings because, you know, he's family, never mind the fact that he should have gone into a home ages ago and drinks white spirit when he can't find the gin.

And sometimes even when he can.

So this is the space for film reviews, book reviews (when I've got the time to read one) and general thoughts on the state of the world. Nothing profound, usually along the lines of 'What does (insert name here) think he's doing, the moron?' I intend to take full advantage of our democratic right to whinge.

Welcome one and welcome all. Drinks on the left, hatstand on the right. Don't worry, the end of the corridor isn't as dark as it looks, but I have to warn you; if you go down that far, there are things that bite.
